Dragon Ball GT: The Complete Series

In season one Dragon Ball GT, Goku has just finish training Uub on the lookout. Uub now heads back to his village. As always Goku is hungry. So Goku heads of to the kitchen for a light snack. Meanwhile the evil Emperor Pilf along with Mai and Shu have come to the lookout for the black dragon ball. The black dragon ball have been long forgotten from the world expect from Emperor Pilf. But the they have a price for using them. Once the wish is make they are sent all over the galaxy. They must be colleted up again before one earth year is up or the earth will be destroy. Pilf is in the middle of making his wish, when Goku surprise him and by the slip of the tongue he wishes Goku back to a kid again. Now Goku, Pan and Trunks have to search the galaxy for the dragon ball. They meet many enemies along the way. One of them is baby the last remaining Tuffle. After a battle with Baby he disappear from slight. Baby reappears on earth looking forwards to destroy Goku and all the Saiyan. But Goku, Pan and Trunks are not back from there dragon ball hunting. Goku returns from finding the dragon ball senses something is not right on earth. Baby has taken over Vegeta's body and try's to use the power of the Saiyan on Goku. Can Goku find away to get Baby out of Vegeta's body and save the earth or will he have to destroy his life long friend.

In season two of Dragon Ball GT, Goku is failing to stop Baby Vegeta from taking his revenge. Uub steps in to help him, but is no match him. As baby is about to destroy Uub, Buu steps in and saves him at the last second. Buu know that they are no match for Baby Vegeta power. So they fusion back into one to form Majuub. Majuub last until he is turned into a cookie by his own attack. Now Goku has reached Super Saiyan 4 and has the power to put Baby to rest. After Kibito Kai's plan works for restoring Goku power. Baby retreats from Vegeta body and try's to escape with his ship. But Goku sends baby and his ship into the sun destroying him once and for all. After all is said and done life goes back to normal. But all is not what is seems. Android 17 attack Trunks and tell him to tell Goku to come to hell. In Hell a union between Dr. Gero and Dr. Myuu has hell turned up side down and the earth flooded with past villains. As Goku is preparing to take 17 to the grave with him. Android 18 show up revealing 17 weakness to Goku. Goku put an end to Super Android 17 in the nick of time. With the pasted villains destroy along with 17, they use the dragon ball to fix things at went wrong during baby's rule. The dragon balls are crack from all the years of over usages. An evil looking dragon come on of the balls spawns seven more evil dragons upon the earth. Now Goku must defeat each of the dragon ball to return earth to its normal state. Now has defeated six of the seven dragons, but the last dragon unite all the dragon into one to form Omega Shenron. Goku alone is not enough to destroy Omega Shenron. Until Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta Shows up to help. But there power is not enough to put down Shenron. So they fusion to make Gogeta and with this new fusion power can they stop Omega Shenron or will he destroy the universe and life as we know it.

Dragon Ball: Complete Collection Movie 4 Pack (2011)

When anyone looks back at music, movies, or TV Shows that define a generation - Dragon Ball/DBZ surely pops into anyones mind. Of course, this series made its way to US shores in the 1990's, but it sure is a memorable one that not many anime fans can never forget. The series which lasted on Japanese TV for ten years and spawned over four-hundred TV episodes, toys, countless movies, and merchandise, etc. is now once again available in DVD format with a collection of the Dragon Ball movies. This is the first time that the set will contain the 'Blood Rubies' movie, while previous releases didn't. It also contains the last DB movie released in 1996 to commemorate the shows ten years anniversary and success. That movie, 'The Path to Power' is basically the enture first season of the show condensed into a ninety minute movie that contains top-notch movie animation quality that runs way smoother and fluid than the series ever did. If you are already a fan and own all of these, i'd suggest you save a few bucks and skip it. However, if you are a must have die-hard DB fan than this is a worthy compliation to add to one's DB collection. If you are new to the series, this is a good set to start off on. Also check out the DB DVD box sets that are now available and have all 153 episodes of the series at very affordable prices. Watch the show that captivated the world, started a phenomenon and introduced the US to what Japanese anime really is.

I have mixed feelings about this movie set. If you have seen the series then 2 of the movies are more or less a short summary of events in the series. The Curse of the Blood Rubies and Sleeping Princess in Devils Castle are new tales that are not covered in the Dragonball series. It's really just 2 useful movies. It is presented in 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound and the video quality is very good. If you like Dragonball this set is a good buy.

Every movie is displayed perfectly in 4:3. Although I personally don't like the movies as much as the DBZ movies, this is a must for any true fan of the series. I would watch the whole Dragon Ball series first before watching this because the movies contain spoilers. Its hard to explain but you'll understand once you watch these movies. All in all the movie pack is great and is sold at a good price. I've heard people complain about the second movie having problems but I personally didn't see the problem. I thought every movie was pristine in quality. Happy watching!

Dragon Ball Season 5 is a great item for any Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball Z fan who wants to complete their collection or see what happens before Goku's later adventures. Viewers of any anime or Dragon Ball enthusiasts will enjoy the season finale to Dragon Ball, Akira Toriyama's masterpiece. The episodes were all great, especially the filler sequences, and my only complaint is that the DVD box set did NOT come with an episode guide.

Now I know a lot of people hate me for this but I personally think that Dragon Ball, not Z, but Dragon Ball is the greatest anime. I'm still stuck between this and Naruto, but the original Dragon Ball story, is just so original, completely laugh out loud hilarious and very inspiring. I've always loved Akira Toriyama's art style, he's kind of altered it in Z but what never ceases to amaze me is the creativity. Who would have ever thought of making a Japanese anime with anthropomorphic animals and mainly chibi characters. I've watched the series countless times and I still LOVE it and it keeps me entertained. Even the fillers are great.

Now moving on to the actual boxed set, as you know this is the last season of Dragon Ball. The 1st disc and half of the 2nd disc are the last we see of chibi Goku (Shockingly 15 years old though). In the previous season Goku fought the evil King Piccolo after he killed his closest friends. The King Piccolo saga was the turning point of the Dragon Ball franchise and becomes more known for it's action. In this season Goku prepares and trains with Kami, the earth's guardian for 3 years to fight Piccolo Jr. (King Piccolo's reincarnation) with some filler but still great, and restores the life of his friends with the dragon balls. There are some heated battles and also the final battle between Goku and Jr. After a brutal match between the two warriors Goku embarks on a journey with his life-long friend and future wife Chi-chi to rescue her father from a burning castle (which is another filler). What I found weird though is that I ordered this brand new but for some reason didn't get a booklet included as the previous 4 did. Overall this is a great season and would without a doubt recommend this to anyone.

The last time I saw a cartoon series that captivated me to watch it from start to finish was around 10-15 years ago (Transformers: Beast Wars & Mobile Suit Gundam Wing). Cartoons of today don't seem to hold up very well compared to their predecessors as I continue to have a hard time finding a more "recent" cartoon show to watch. So I decided to look to the past for a great show to immerse myself in.

Now that's where Dragon Ball comes in. I remember watching DBZ on Toonami to what seems like ages ago, I remember vaguely watching Dragon Ball at a best friend's house, but I only remembered the episode "Oolong the Terrible." Without hesitation, I purchased all five box sets, and what began as simply an "impulse" buy became something much more.

Everything about Dragon Ball, every episode, character, storyline, and yes even the filler itself I enjoyed, I thought everything was great. I can't think of a show since Beast Wars, GW & Cowboy Bebop where I was excited to move onto the next story. I think this show is much better than its successors Dragon Ball Z & GT. Instead of silly power levels and over the top hubris from over the top villains from DBZ and GT, we get a sincere vision of an adventure that involves humor, love, betrayal, friendship and loyalty. It's not about power levels; it's about skill, humility and determination.

For a thirty year old show, the animation is beautiful; they did a wonderful job re-mastering the sets. My only real complaint is that they ended the show by essentially telling you to watch Dragon Ball Z. This is disappointing to me, because the difference between this show and DBZ is like night and day, why is that.

As Goku steps into the ring at the World Martial Arts Tournament against Tien Shinhan, little does he know that his world is about to get even bigger. As he dukes it out with Tien there is a dark cloud looming over the world, darker than Goku can even begin to fathom. That dark cloud is in the form of a ruthless tyrant named King Piccolo. Piccolo is the strongest being on the planet and even with the discovery of the Dragon Balls, his goal is not world domination. Rather, his goal is to destroy every human being on the planet. Now with Tien and Chiatzou as strong allies with some new friends by his side, Goku is about to face Piccolo head on. The only thing here is Goku is not going into this fight with the mindset of saving world alone. This time it is something much, much more.

While I was enjoying watching Dragon Ball, this is the point of the Dragon Ball story line that was truly looking forward to the most. The show has so many positives when it reaches this point. One of the big positives is the mood of the show and how quickly it shifts from light hearted and funny, to dramatic and dark. Granted, there are still funny moments especially seen through the pudgy mountain man Yajerobe, but still when Piccolo makes his appearance even Master Roshi, gets serious. The dramatic elements are used so well and I had not seen so much emotion in the characters since season eight of Dragon Ball Z. It all stems from that one moment at the end of the Tien Shinhan saga that sets the pace for the rest of the 4th season. I don't want to give it away, but if you are a DBZ fan this point in time is actually mentioned in the Vegeta saga by Goku and it was a moment that I was really looking forward to seeing.

Now there is one more season of Dragon Ball to explore, and I am looking forward to seeing Goku finally making the change from Boy to Man and paving the way for the adventures that will follow in Dragon Ball Z

I have always loved Dragonball Z since it debuted in America in 1996. I own every episode and have watched the series beginning to end more times than I can count. The crazy thing is I never watched Dragonball until now in 2010. I absolutely love it. I bought the season 1, 2, and 3 box sets and I am addicted to it. It changes the way I look at DBZ, I love them both. My only problem is waiting for the last 2 box sets. I wish I became a fan later this year :). I could watch it on the net but waiting 2-3 months will make it an even greater treat and my anticipation will be through the roof. I love the Japanese music they have, its different than the American music in that there are a lot more quiet scenes in DB than the Faulconer dub of DBZ. In the BF DBZ dub they play music for everything in this there are more quiet scenes. Its great!

Dragon Ball is an amazing series. While Dragon Ball Z is the more famous anime series because of all its super battles, Dragon Ball is actually a little bit more enjoyable because of its light-hearted humor mixed with more traditional fight scenes. With Dragon Ball FUNimation is releasing the series in an amazing and affordable format. These releases are much better handled than the Dragon Ball Z releases being that they are not cropped and the original opening and closing themes are sung in English! If you're a fan of the Dragon Ball manga or Dragon Ball Z, then I truly suggest you get Dragon Ball. With a release of 30-31 episodes a season this volume is the midway point of the series.

Characters like Yamcha, Tien Shinhan, Master Roshi (Tien and Roshi are my two favorites), Bulma, Oolong, Pilaf, Piccolo, Ox King, Chi Chi, and many, many more become so personal to the viewer that by the end of the series, you'll realize how much time the show has encompassed, how much you have invested into each character. THIS is what makes Dragon Ball so good, and it's why I dislike DBZ as all these characters are thrown to the side in favor of Goku, Gohan and Vegeta.

If you have not seen this show, buy it. You will be entertained from season 1, episode 1 to the last episode of season 5. This show is a journey worth remembering, Dragon Ball is a must see show at least worth one viewing in your life. You will not be disappointed, guaranteed.

I bought the first three seasons for my grandson and he was so thrilled. I think he enjoyed these videos as much as he did the laptop he got. I could not find these locally but thanks to Amazon I was able to finish my Christmas shopping and make my grandson smile. I would highly reccomend these DVD's to anyone who enjoys the Dragonball Z series because they are the complete season, they arrive in excellent condition and you can tell they are brand new. I shop at Amazon.com a very often and I have never had a problem. I highly reccomend this DVD series and this website.

I have long wondered when Funimation would finally get the rights to the first thirteen episodes of Dragon Ball allowing them to release a proper set. Now after all that waiting it's finally going to happen and their giving us the first two sagas and beginning of the third all in one set! I'm ecstatic to read from Gen Fukunaga, president at CEO at FUNimation Entertainment, that the original thirteen episodes will be redone uncut as up til now they've only been properly available in a highly edited DVD set titled 'The Saga of Goku'. While I happily purchased that set long ago from LionsGate Entertainment I'm more than happy to upgrade to this set if it means finally owning those first thirteen uncut episodes.

There haven't been any real extras on Funimation sets other than previews for their other DVD releases so I wouldn't count on finding any here. The set is said to include English and Japanese language options with the original Japanese musical score in 5.1 Surround. I'm glad Funimation and Amazon are announcing the set as Full Screen Aspect Ratio because though I adapted to the cropped 'widescreen' Dragon Ball Z sets I can't imagine watching Dragon Ball in anything other than 4:3 aspect ratio. I'm so excited for this to come out and can't believe that my long standing wish to have the first uncut season of Dragon Ball is finally coming true. Thanks For Your Time.

It's the series that started it all... "Dragon Ball". Originally, a manga series written and illustrated by Akira Toriyama for "Shonen Jump", the manga series lasted from 1984 through 1995 and since the manga series has produced several anime series which include "Dragon Ball", "Dragon Ball Z", "Dragon Ball GT" and currently in Japan, a new HD broadcasting of "Dragon Ball Kai" and in 2009, an American live action film titled "Dragonball Evolution" was released worldwide.

"Dragon Ball" is the first arc of the series which aired in Japan from 1986 through 1989 and lasted for 153 episodes. The series was released by Harmony Gold USA in the late 80's and then by FUNimation Entertainment in 1995 and uncut episodes were released on DVD in 2003.

But now the episodes will be released in the USA for the first season of "Dragon Ball" for the first time uncut, remastered and digitally restored.

"Dragon Ball - Season One" features a total of 31 episodes on five DVD's. Here is a spoiler-less summary of each episode:

VIDEO & AUDIO:

When I first saw "Dragon Ball", it was probably back in 1992 and the quality of this raw Japanese video was so rough and hard to watch, it was just bad. Several years later, I was able to catch the first few episodes that aired on television but the problem was that the schedule was inconsistent and our television network was quite bad.

So, it is great to see this uncut, remastered and digitally restored version on DVD. Presented in its original format of 4:3, one thing I noticed is how good this anime series looked on DVD. The series is nearly 25 years old and just watching it, FUNimation Entertainment did a great job in bringing this series out and making it look very good with only a hint of dust particles and scratches but for the most part, this remastered version definitely looked very good on DVD.

As for the audio, similar to the recent FUNimation Entertainment "Dragon Ball Z" and "Dragon Ball GT" releases, the English voice track with original Japanese music comes in 5.1 Surround, while the Japanese voice track is in its original Japanese mono. I watched both English and Japanese and of course, there are some changes in the English dialogue (ie. Master Roshi and in the Japanese track, Kamesama Sennen) and grew up watching the original Japanese version but for the most part, I have enjoyed the "Dragon Ball Z" and "Dragon Ball GT" dubwork that I found the English dubwork for "Dragon Ball" to be quite solid. Dialogue is clear and understandable and for audio settings, for both audio tracks, I found the best setting for me was to select on my receiver "Stereo on all Channels".

Enjoyable, addicting and absolutely awesome!

That's how I felt after watching the first season of "Dragon Ball". I thought it was absolutely fabulous that the FUNimation Entertainment has released the series uncut, remastered and digitally restored but to also release the first 31 episodes as a box set like they did with "Dragon Ball Z" and "Dragon Ball GT". For fans of any of the "Dragon Ball" series, not so long ago, it cost a lot of money just to purchase separate volumes of the series (which typically came with only a few episodes) and now, here we are several years later and definitely getting our money's worth.

Also, to watch this series once again, not only was it a nostalgic time for me, it was just great to see the episodes and watching how fun, humorous and action-packed they were. Each episode was absolutely addicting and it was great seeing how awesome of a fighter Master Roshi (Kamesama Sennen) was back then and just seeing how the story evolved pre-Dragon Ball Z. Also, to see Bulma and Yamcha during their younger years was fun as well.

Although "Dragon Ball" is not as intense or action-oriented like "Dragon Ball Z", the series still manages to capture a lot of action and although this is Goku when he was much, much younger, even then, he was no slouch and had very good fighting ability. And there was more emphasis on the storyline as well.

For parents wondering about the TV 14 rating, part of it is because Goku is nude quite a few times and also, when he finds out that females are not the same as males (and he hasn't been around humans all that long), Goku tends to touch people in the crotch to see if they are male or female. Also, during Krillin's fight with Bacterium, there are things that the opponent does that you will never seen in a television series, let alone an animated series. And the characters of Oolong and even Master Roshi are characters that are quite perverted.

As for the DVD, as mentioned, this is the best I have seen "Dragon Ball" look and 31 episodes for the first volume is pretty much a bargain for what it's sold for. Granted, I wish there were some special features included outside of textless theme songs but overall, you're getting your money's worth with these box set releases.

Granted, if I had to find a negative and wanted to be nitpicky, I can easily complain that the fifth disc only contains three episodes and that the Japanese audio track was not in Dolby Digital 5.1 but truthfully, 31 episodes is still plentiful and for purists, you do get the Japanese audio track in its original mono format. Really, there is nothing I can really complain about this release. It's a very solid release that is affordable and just worth it!

Overall, "Dragon Ball - Season One" is another wonderful release from FUNimation Entertainment. Fans of any of the "Dragon Ball" series will definitely want to make sure this one is in their collection. Highly recommended!
